The loyalty program rewards your regular customers. Every time a registered customer makes a purchase, they earn points. Those points can be redeemed as a discount on a future purchase. This gives customers a reason to return to your store instead of shopping elsewhere.

Before You Start

  • “Enable Loyalty” must be turned on in POS Settings.
  • The loyalty program and its rules (points per rupee spent, conversion value per point) must be set up in the BAS back-office.
  • Loyalty tracking works only for registered customers - Walk-in customers do not earn or redeem points.

How Customers Earn Points

Points are earned automatically on every sale linked to a registered customer. You do not have to do anything extra - the system handles it. How it works:
  1. You select a registered customer before charging
  2. The sale is completed
  3. The loyalty program calculates how many points the customer earned based on the sale amount
  4. The points are added to the customer’s account
The customer can see their point balance the next time they visit your store.

Checking a Customer’s Points Balance

When you select a customer at the billing screen, their current point balance is shown as a small star badge in the top-right of the customer row.

You can also see the point balance in the Customer search panel - each search result shows a star badge with the customer’s points next to their name.

How to Redeem Points at Checkout

When a customer wants to use their points:
  1. Add items to the cart and select the customer as normal
  2. Tap Charge to open the Payment screen
  3. If the customer has redeemable points, a gold section appears at the top of the Payment screen

The loyalty section shows:
  • Available points (for example, 450 points)
  • The value per point (for example, ₹0.50 per point)
  • An input field for how many points to redeem
  • A Max button to redeem all available points at once
  1. Enter the number of points the customer wants to redeem, or tap Max
  2. The Amount Due automatically reduces by the value of the redeemed points (for example, 200 points at ₹0.50 each = ₹100 off)
  3. The remaining balance is shown so the customer knows how much to pay in cash or card
  4. Complete the payment as normal

Adding a New Customer for Loyalty

If a walk-in customer wants to start earning points:
  1. In the cart, tap the customer row
  2. Scroll down to the Quick add section in the customer panel
  3. Enter the customer’s name and mobile number
  4. Tap Add and Select
The customer is registered immediately and starts earning points on this sale. A message confirms: “New customers are enrolled in rewards and earn points from their first sale.”

Notifications and Monitoring

The loyalty program runs automatically. There are no daily tasks for the cashier beyond selecting the customer correctly. Managers can view loyalty activity through:
  • The customer record in the back-office (shows their points balance and history)
  • The loyalty program settings in BAS (shows all enrolled customers and total points issued)

Troubleshooting

The loyalty section does not appear on the Payment screen Either: (1) the customer is a Walk-in and has no loyalty account, (2) the customer has zero redeemable points, or (3) Enable Loyalty is off in POS Settings. Check with your Admin. The customer says they have more points than what the system shows Points are updated after each sale. If they made a purchase at a different terminal or recently, there may be a short delay. Ask the manager to check the customer record in the back-office for the correct balance. I accidentally charged without redeeming the customer’s points Points redemption must happen at checkout - it cannot be applied after the sale is submitted. The customer’s points remain in their account for the next purchase. The Max button redeems more points than the customer expected The system caps redemption at the point value of the sale - a customer cannot redeem more than the sale is worth. If the customer wants to use fewer points, enter the specific number manually instead of using Max. Loyalty is not appearing even though Enable Loyalty is on Check that a Loyalty Program has been set up and linked in the back-office (BAS). The feature flag being on is not enough - the program itself must be configured with earning and redemption rules.

Best Practices

  • Always ask the customer if they are a member before starting the sale - adding them after the sale is complete means they miss the points for that transaction
  • If a customer is not registered, take 30 seconds to add them with their mobile number - the loyalty program grows your regular customer base
  • Remind customers with high point balances that they can save money by redeeming - this increases their satisfaction and encourages the next visit
  • Do not redeem points on behalf of a customer without their permission - ask them first
