# Getting Around

> Find your way around the Point of Sale counter and manager screens, learn which role sees what, and know what to set up before you sell.

The counter lives at `/pos`. It opens on the selling screen, with the other screens a tap away in the sidebar. This page shows you where everything is and who can reach it.

## The screens

| Screen | Where | What it is for |
| ----------- | ---------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Counter | `/pos` | Search or scan, build a cart, take payment. The default screen. |
| Returns | `/pos/returns` | Look up a past sale and refund it within the window. |
| Shift | `/pos/shift` | Open and close the cash shift; see expected amounts. |
| Held Orders | `/pos/held` | Recall a parked cart to resume it. |
| Invoices | `/pos/invoices` | Browse past sales and reprint receipts. |
| Analytics | `/pos/analytics` | See sales trends over a chosen window. |
| Terminals | `/pos/terminals` | Manage tills and watch offline-queue health. |

## Who sees what

Access follows your role. If a screen is missing, your role does not include it.

| Role | Screens |
| ----------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| POS Admin | Every screen, plus the settings and terminals in the back office. |
| POS Manager | Counter, Shift, Invoices, Analytics, Terminals. |
| POS Cashier | Counter, Returns, Shift, Held Orders, Invoices. |
| Pharmacist | Counter, Returns, Shift, Held Orders, Invoices, with batch and expiry picking applied while selling. |

## The back office

Administrators also have a Desk workspace, **Point of Sale**, for setup:

* **POS Settings** turns features on and off and sets your branding, defaults, and hardware.
* **Terminals** lists every till, its store, and its assigned cashier.
* **Sales** opens the list of completed sales.

The workspace also links to the platform records the counter builds on: sales, stores (POS Profiles), shift opening and closing, items, prices, pricing rules, and payment modes.

## Before you sell

Set these up first (an administrator does this once):

1. A store (POS Profile) with its warehouse and company.
2. POS Settings configured, with the pharmacy features on if you need them.
3. At least one active terminal, bound to the store and a cashier.
4. A catalogue with items, prices, and stock. For batch-tracked medicines, add stock with batches before selling.

See [Setup and the counter](/retail/point-of-sale/the-counter) for the selling flow, and the shared [Bizaxl](/bizaxl/introduction) and BAS docs for stores, items, and customers.
