## The Number Cards (Your Live Counters)

At the top of the workspace, four number cards give you an instant snapshot of what is happening right now.

| Card | What It Shows | Who Checks It |
| ----------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| Total Patients | Count of all active patient records | Healthcare Administrator |
| Total Patients Admitted | Patients currently in a bed (inpatient status = Admitted) | Nursing User, Healthcare Administrator |
| Open Appointments | Appointments today with status Open (arrived but not yet seen) | Reception, Doctors |
| Appointments to Bill | Completed appointments not yet invoiced | Billing, Healthcare Administrator |

Each card shows a percentage change compared to the previous period, so you can see immediately if your clinic is busier or quieter than yesterday.

## The Appointment Chart

Below the number cards, a bar chart shows the number of appointments over time (by appointment date, excluding cancelled). Use this to see:

* Which days are the busiest
* Whether appointment volume is growing over weeks or months
* Seasonal patterns in patient visits
