## The Number Cards (Your Live Counters)

At the top of the workspace, four cards give you an instant snapshot of the current state of your practice.

| Card | What It Shows | Who Checks It |
| ----------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------ |
| Total Patients | All active patient records in the system | Healthcare Administrator |
| Total Patients Admitted | Patients currently in a surgical bay or bed | Ophthalmic Nurse, Healthcare Administrator |
| Open Appointments | Appointments today in Open status (patient arrived, not yet seen) | Front Desk, Doctors |
| Appointments to Bill | Completed appointments not yet invoiced | Billing, Healthcare Administrator |

Each card shows a percentage change compared to the previous period, so you can immediately see if today is busier or quieter than yesterday.

## The Appointments Chart

Below the number cards, a bar chart shows appointment volume by day (excluding cancelled appointments). Use this to:

* Identify which days of the week are busiest for bookings
* See whether appointment volume is growing over time
* Spot patterns (e.g., more post-op visits after a surgery day)

## Your Shortcuts

The shortcuts row gives you one-click access to the most commonly used lists. Each shortcut shows a live count.

| Shortcut | What It Opens | Count Shown |
